Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) is the leading national organization that focuses on engaging and empowering Iranian-American youth. IAAB has a fast paced and cross-cultural work environment and seeks talented employees who crave learning new skills and aren’t afraid to tackle big projects.

We value all of our interns and go the extra mile to make sure you receive a learning experience that fits your career goals. Currently we have two internship opportunities available.

 

IAAB YAR Institute Intern

Are you a budding scholar of Iran? Does education, cultural immersion, and study abroad excite you? IAAB is launching a new program: The YAR Institute, which will be the first study abroad program in Iran for Iranian-American leaders. As an intern you will get to work one-on-one with the Director of The YAR Institute to develop this program from the ground up.

Our ideal candidate is someone who knows how to work in a cross-cultural setting, is very organized, and is adept at building relationships.

 

What You Will Learn:

•       How to create curriculum for a study abroad program

•       How to coordinate a program between different countries

•       How to develop virtual coursework for our Fellows and coordinate with leading scholars

•       How to develop creative and compelling educational opportunities in Iran for American students

•       How to develop our mentorship program for Fellow’s media projects

•       Assist IAAB staff in coordinating all details for the trip to Iran, including flights, hotels, lectures, trips

•       Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects

 

What We Require:

•       Background in communication, non-profit management, or the social sciences

•       Strong communication skills

•       Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments

•       Creative and flexible

•       Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train

•       Interest in critical education about the Middle East and generally socially conscious individual

•       Interest in nonprofit management and community development

 

Details:

The position can begin as early as January 20th and ends June 15th. You are expected to work 10 hours a week and can receive college credit for your work.

IAAB Intern

IAAB is looking for a motivated student or recent graduate to learn about all facets of nonprofit operations, including programs, administration, volunteer management, marketing, office management, and technology management. The position offers a great deal of learning in multiple arenas by supporting a dynamic and small non-profit organization. The IAAB Intern will report directly to the Executive Director and Youth Programs Manager.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is flexible, able to handle multiple projects at once, is very organized, and is adept at building relationships.

 

What You Will Learn:

•       Day-to-day management of office facility

•       How to coordinate a multiple programs across the country

•       How to grow an organization’s social media presence

•      Assist with unique public relations and fundraising projects

•       Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects

 

What We Require:

•       Background in communication, non-profit management, or the social sciences.

•       Strong communication skills

•       Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments

•       Creative and flexible

•       Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train

•       Interest in community organizing, youth development and working in a diaspora community.

•       Interest in nonprofit management and community development
