IAAB Conference

IAAB presented the EXILE film series during the 2012 IAAB Conference, featuring the work of Iranian filmmakers in diaspora, and organized around the theme of exile. Films were screened throughout the weekend in North Ridge Room B, leading to a filmmakers’ roundtable on Sunday, October 14 in the Grand Horizon Room.

In three short episodes, the life of young, single, and recent Iranian émigrés to the US are depicted from the perspective of those that left and those that were left behind. Through their narration, the characters subtly transfer to the viewer the same culture shock, humor, and emotion that the seemingly abrupt transition inserted into their daily lives.
