Camp Ayandeh 2006
June 25 - 30, Thompson Island, Massachusetts
IAAB proudly presented the first-ever Iranian-American leadership camp, held on Thompson Island, Massachusetts the week of June 25-30, 2006. The Iranian-American Leadership Camp, now known as "Camp Ayandeh," aimed to create a forum that allowed high school age members of the Iranian-American community the opportunity to learn leadership and communication skills, increase their knowledge of the Iranian culture, engage with current leaders in the Iranian community, and participate in teambuilding activities.
Thompson Island boasted a beautiful outdoor environment hotel-style facilities located just minutes from Boston. Most importantly, Thompson Island offered excellent safety precautions: fully staffed site with trained professionals on the Island at all times, first-aid facilities available to all campers and counselors around the clock, and in case of an emergency Boston Harbor EMS was just a 5 minute boat ride from the Island.
Campers participated in various activities, including: ropes courses, lectures by prominent members of the Iranian-American community, cultural workshops, group challenges, and public speaking workshops. Please visit the camp blog for more information about the day-to-day activities at Camp Ayandeh 2006.
